FAIRHAVEN FARMS "INTRO TO EVENTING" ADULT CAMP
Mary was pleased to be invited to teach the dressage portion of the adult camp, hosted by Kimberly Wallace of Fairhaven Farm in Coosa, GA
The evening started with a theory session, in which the purpose and directives of the dressage phase of eventing was discussed.
Kimberly and Mary discussed some of the nuts-and-bolts points of riding a dressage test in front of a judge at a competition, and fielded some great questions from the participants.
Then Kimberly snuck away to shoot these pictures of the group.

| Two of the students have prior show experience, and two have not yet shown. All of the students are committed and focused, and everyone improved from the beginning to the end.
We focused on applying the first three elements of the Training Scale--Rhythm, Suppleness, and Contact when riding circles, straight lines, and transitions.
The students' regular instructor, Kimberly Wallace of Fairhaven Farm, has done a good job of preparing the students for riding in an event and with an emphasis on dressage.
Mary returns to North Alabama and Georgia every couple of months to judge dressage shows at Fairhaven Farm and give clinics.
Entries and spectators are encouraged in the shows, and participants and auditors in the clinic are very welcome! You do not have to train with Mary or Kimberly to participate or watch!

We couldn't resist taking some group pictures after the class, and also some photos of the social hour afterwards.
Judging by the smiles, everyone was having a good time! Fairhaven Farm offers lessons in 3-day eventing, children's and adult's day camps and special courses, as well as good horses for sale.
Please visit the website, linked above, for informaton on all events going on at the farm, including regular clinics with Mary from IRIDE.
